# Why was my trade execution late?
A copied trade may appear late or may not trigger at all. This happens because Pelican only sends (transmits) your trade request to the broker — the broker is the one who actually executes the trade.
After we send the request, we wait for the broker’s response for up to 15 minutes. If the broker confirms the trade within that time and the price is still within the signal’s range, the trade will be copied. If the broker takes longer to respond, or the price moves outside the allowed range, the trade won’t be copied.
